Concerned with east side development being neglected. Lots of housing but collapse of business and retail. Next up no taco bell or kfc. Joellas closed. And we're getting junk storage and car washes. Please put attention into ensuring east side doesn't turn into a low utility housing suburb. Pay attention and actively plan.

Hello, I am writing in support of local urban agriculture. I was very glad to discover GardenQ at 2110 E Covenanter and want to express my support for community based agriculture and education. I recently wrote about strategies for sustainable food policy (“Putting Food in the Driver’s Seat: Aligning food systems policy to advance sustainability, health, and security,” in Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, September 2023), and I believe their efforts are forward-facing in making Bloomington a hub and example for urban agriculture. Saw someone yell at/harass a city employee for being properly pulled over with flashing lights and hazards while picking up trash signage along the road and in sidewalk area after the storm, and now that everything has calmed down I wanted to report that here. As a resident, I would like to know that the administration is supporting these civil servants that are overworked and underpaid and doing the tiring, thankless work that administrations and councils make their jobs. Are you all making it clear to those bad actors in town that behavior such as that is not tolerated? With doxing online and such short tempers, things seem to only continue to escalate with those who are displeased with government in general. Are the City workers we need being protected in their day to day? I would like to thank those cleaning up the roads, reducing needless signage and trash, and ensuring everything stays clean and out of the storm system. All those many groups residents see out every day seem to go unnoticed but are so crucial to maintaining Bloomington. Thanks for your consideration and time.

Lack of full attendance of the members of the Board of Zoning Appeals over at least the last three months is seriously hampering the capacity of the City to handle land use matters in an efficient and timely manner. The Board of Zoning Appeals has cancelled its regular meeting for July 25, 2024 for a lack of quorum. While the BZA did technically have a quorum in May and June, there were fewer than all 5 members present for the entirety of either of these meetings. City council and the mayor need to appoint BZA members who are taking this responsibility seriously without repeated absences.

This is in response to ticket #192753, as well as several others I've seen/submitted. It does no good to have a ticket reporting system if NO ONE RESPONDS on the same day/in a reasonable time period. I submitted this earlier. If no one responds do the needs of Bloomington's people on a timely basis, then having this response system is COMPLETELY POINTLESS. Dunn St (over by the intersection of Indiana and 3rd) has been blocked off for days, and no one seems to care. If you aren't going to take residents' concerns seriously, then just delete these tickets and delete the tickets of everyone in Bloomington who counted on you to resolve these issues. I'm so disappointed in how the city has responded to the needs of its people. 430 S Dunn (the apartment building itself right there) and the road near 2537 E 7th St - are almost constantly LOUD or INTRUSIVE on other tenants' rights. I know all about "quiet enjoyment" and "constructive eviction" thanks to my lawyer. WHY does the city have a self-report function if no one responds within the same say or even the same week? My friend on Dunn St can't sleep because some of the residents are so loud and the company doesn't bother to change things. New residents at one of Pavilion's buildings (Poolside, 3rd floor) Either change would be much appreciated, but I'd love for tenants in this city to have rights respected by their landlords. Do something.
