When I try to submit my message, I receive the following error: No that's wrong endpoints/open311ServerUnReachable. I am trying to submit it again.
Message:
I have tried to be patient and have quelled the white hot rage of frustration I've felt so many times this summer. I've NOT written at least a dozen times but after spending another morning trying to get to where I NEED to be and having every street blocked off or torn up I am going to express my displeasure. I truly view the managing of this latest street project to be irresponsible. It's one thing to be good stewards of the region's resources but it is another thing entirely to cock up the city so badly that no one can get from point A to point B and to disrupt lives for such an extended period of time. Furthermore, do you know what contributes most to depression? Randomness and uncontrollability. I feel like a dog in a learned-helplessness experiment that won't end. If you absolutely had to bring the city to a halt, could you not have mitigated it by warning us, not with some 3 line blurb in the paper which many of us don't read but loudly and profusely? It should be on every billboard in town. There should be a countdown on the city square telling people when the randomness will end. There should be huge warning signs everywhere saying "WARNING: This street will be closed from this time to that." Why aren't there policemen at 4-way stops during high traffic times? Why aren't there alternate routes? If you have so damned much extra money to tear up the city then sacrifice a street or two and use the money to minimize the sense of futility. Not everyone can add an extra 20 minutes to each trip they need to make. With a little information you could have turned it into a positive instead of a negative. Many of us are dealing with life and death situations on a daily basis. Many of us have stress-filled situations with young children, elderly parents, and jobs. Our schedules are tight and our lives are stretched thin. We're not thinking communally, we're surviving. At least with information we could plan around these wonderful improvements if not celebrate the "progress". And, to further show that I'm not a total idiot, I will concede that I know nothing about what it takes to run a city. I have no idea what challenges you are facing. Maybe all my ideas are stupid from a more informed perspective but I'm trying to give you a sense of what it feels like out here in the field. This is what John Doe trying to scrape by in his every day life is feeling. There is a limbic-gut-lizard-brain unreasoned urge to first, bite my steering wheel in half and second, to vote every government official possible out of office in the next election because they are either uncaring bastards or irresponsible dolts. This pain has been going on long enough and reinforced so intensely that it is emotionally encoded in my brain. I will have to fight against the urge the next time I vote. You really don't want people blindly voting just to get you out of office. There is enough blind voting going on as it is. If this insanity is going to last much longer, tell us. Do something, please.
Thank you,
Don Harris

Saulius Alminauskas came into OOTM on 9.28.12 to complain that BPD officers come to his residence every month "for no reason" and harass him. He said police officers had busted down his door earlier that morning and assaulted him. He plans to talk to his attorney and possibly take legal action. He lives at 604 Moss Creek Drive.

Penny Dillon (219.5445) called the night of 9.22 to complain about the loud music at Lotusfest. She said she could hear it inside her house, a mile away from downtown. She said it's "not good for the community to be put through this every year" and she doesn't care if it does bring business to the area. She asked for a call back so she could discuss the matter in depth.

Jeff Ellington called on 9.26 to voice her frustration over something that had happened that morning. He was removing a tree that had fallen on a house on E. 11th St and the homeowner, Phil Stringfellow, had to move his car to accommodate Jeff's service truck. The homeowner had no other choice but to park on the street while the roof was being fixed, but still received a parking ticket. Jeff didn't think that was fair and said the parking enforcement officer "should have used some common sense."

I think it would also be very advantageous to the city to create another huge indoor mall on the west side and if possible enlarge college mall.

I also think we can create a wonderful place for midwesterner's to come, play, spend money, and have a nice vacation spot, this I think will play a key role in the future of Bloomington.

We live right next to Bachelor Middle School and was not awaken during the Tornado Warning by the siren that is on the roof of Bachelor MS. We have been awaken by it more than once in the past 2 years and when it goes off it is much louder than our alarm clocks so I do not believe that all 4 of us would ever sleep through it. My request is just that the functionality of the siren at Bachelor Middle School is checked. Thank you.

I have an issue of how a criminal case is not being taken seriously, or pursued in a timely manner. On May 8, 2013
My daughter got shoved into a wall by one of my male neighbors & my car window busted out by my female neighbor & have it on video. The police come & of course my neighbor left before police arrived. The police took everyones statement even reviewed the video which was sent to the officers email right then, still nothing has been done. But the officers did come to my house to tell me there will be a warrant for the female because of the video but nothing will happen to the man that assaulted my daughter & she had visible marks on her arm from where he pushed her.
This back & forth with my neighbor has been going on for a year. But nothing was ever done to protect me & my family so they became bolder in their harassment toward me & my family. I told the officer if they wouldnt not do anything to them they wouldnt stop. I am the one who always called the police ( but the few times they called was saying i didnt have a license & i tried to hit my neighbor with my car) it was me calling for protection. My neighbors have threatened, stalked us w/a video camera pointed to my front door & parking lot, assaulted physically & verbally, destroyed property, & spit on, still to this day stalk my daughter at work & drive by our house because the female neighbor no longer lives by me she was evicted about a week ago. I do not understand why either one wasnt arrested that day. I had all the proof my daughter was injured & my window was busted & video taped so I do not understand the lack of action from the Police that are suppose to protect. If I was not in the "poor side" of town I think things would have been different. I believe if she busted a city officials car window she would have been put in jail that night or assaulted a city officials daughter. Its sad that someone with money & power are more believable then evidence in my case. Every officer & there were alot over the past year all said the same its your word against their word even if you have witnesses nothing is going to happen. One officer even got in my face & said you call us again over stupid shit & I will take you to jail, I have more important things to deal with then neighbor disputes. This was in front of my children & of course my neighbors too. So for months after my family had to deal with them thinking they can do anything cause all they had to say was our word against them. My kids hated to just walk to the car to leave because they hadnt played outside for the past year. My car is scratched up, headlight busted window busted bike tires flattened & I havent done one thing to retaliate except rely on the legal system to protect me. I will be out hundreds of dollars to repair all that has been damaged. Where is my justice where is my protection I dont care what part of town I live or how much money or power i dont have I deserve the same rights as everyone should. If everyone would just realize its the little things that works up to what they consider more important cases. If the police took more time stopping the little incidents maybe the bigger ones wouldnt proceed. To whom that reads this , without knowing me or my history or station in life, if this happened to you, What would you do?
