I tried to submit this report on 10/30/2019, but I am not sure that it went through. On the morning of 10/30/2019, a City of Bloomington pickup truck ran a red light in front of me at the intersection of 3rd and Indiana. The incident was captured on my dash cam. I have uploaded the video to this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJm5JdMn2Hk&feature=youtu.be I debated about whether to report this or not, but as someone that works in public safety, I decided it was important to report. After running the light, the person stopped at a gas pump at the Circle K station and presumably bought gas. So there should be a corresponding gas receipt. The video has the date and time stamp for your reference.

Is there any chance that the City would beautify (i.e. remove the rusty fence, cut the weeds, and mow nicely) the property on Monroe St near Tri-North where the water tank used to be?

The City of Bloomington government has done a horrific job with the B-Line Trail detour due to the trail closure in Switchyard Park. But, the City of Bloomington government has a history of doing a horrific job with all things traffic, roads, and detour related, so I guess in the end: who is surprised?
The detour was announced on October 23rd via the Office of the Mayor's Facebook page stating it would last for about 2 weeks. Local news sources reported on that fact as well.
Now, 22 days later the trail is still closed. I had to call Parks & Rec to ask, because no updates are available online. I called because I need to get into town but the detour path is not safe. Last time I rode the detour it had a lot of gravel, sand, overgrowth, and other hazards. I do not understand why the City cannot at the least keep people updated on the closure when it goes beyond the stated 2 weeks from the Mayor's office. And, maybe going a step further, clean up the detour path?
I know, I know - maintaining a multi-use path would be a lot to ask in this town.

I was downtown yesterday afternoon, and Firestone Auto had multiple vehicles stored/parked on the sidewalk. They are continually blocking the sidewalks at this location; there are multiple uReport cases at this address. Can the city do nothing to keep this downtown pedestrian corridor accessible?

I submitted this report earlier to the Website group, #171681, but it seems like he thought I was asking about his department.
I submitted a uReport recently and was looking at the other open issues and there are 513 open issues with almost 200 of them over a year old. I'm just curious if these old issues ever get reviewed and/or closed?

Thursday 03/05/2020: My wife was involved in a traffic accident where a lady ran a red light and then merged left into my wife. My wife called BPD to report the accident and officer C. Brummett (ID # 1578) responded. Officer Brummett exchanged the "Drivers Exchange Information" form to both parties.
03/06/2020: My wife called BPD after the 24 hour period following an accident where the law states that ANY VEHICLE ACCIDENT WHERE THE DAMAGES EXCEED $1,000, THE RESPONDING OFFICER SHALL FILE A REPORT. She was able to contact officer Brummett and he said he didn't file a report as there were "only minor damages". My wife explained that the damages to our car alone was $5,000. Officer Brummett stated that he wasn't a body man and couldn't estimate the damages. Officer Brummett then said he would have a report done and filed by Monday (03/09/2020).
03/09/2020: At the time of this writing it is 03/09/2020 @ 3:26PM. A report still hasn't been filed and according to BPD administration officer is out today. They also state that officer Brummett will be in training tomorrow, 03/10/2020, and not available. The person we've been in contact with also refused to let us speak with the Chief of Police about this situation and said to call back tomorrow.
This is entirely unacceptable. We need a police report filed to get our BRAND NEW CAR repaired and officer Brummett has been irresponsible in his duties.
The law states that the officer SHALL have a report filed within 24 hours. It's now been 4 days and it hasn't been done yet.

Please close City Hall to the foot traffic public IMMEDIATELY. Be on call for emergencies but staying open risks the lives of employees and visitors and acts as a giant shining beacon for other businesses in the community to stay open too and not take the virus seriously. Surely there are new steps that will be taken soon? Flatten the curve.
