there are now actual homeless people taking advantage of the protests in dunn meadow. being both a student, employee, and resident of bloomington indiana i have understood the allowance of these encampments, but to what point? not only is it endangering that area but it is a potential danger for those protestors.
In the Spring someone from my office could never find someone in the Morton parking garage so that she could buy the $40 parking pass. Now i am having difficulty contacting someone during business hours for the same reason. I have left 2 messages and continue to try and no one answers the phone. Who else can i call or email? The Bloomington Firefighters stated that a membership has been bought for them at Planet Fitness, and that they use the firetruck for transport to this facility with permission. Is this the taxpayers money being used for personnel transport and membership fees?
City of Bloomington truck#415 had four individuals occupying said truck and none of them were wearing masks. I know city policy dictates that if more than one individual is occurring a vehicle, they need to wear a mask. If it helps, it was a white Dodge Ram pickup and has city sticker on side. Please address the importance of mask wearing.
City workers replacing sidewalks on south side of 1st Street between Ballantine and Jordan has started well before 7:00 a.m., estimiate 6:20 a.m. for a couple of days now, violating the city's own noise regulation. It is not intermittent, but rather a cement truck continually backing up.
E Morningside Drive continues to have heavy speeders, even if most people fine. Multiple neighbors have requested traffic calming for years. Kids almost hit again today. For the people living on the road please do something.
Is the City intending to abolish the police department? They are having official speakers at the rally with the official position to abolish police. Totally for ending police brutality, changing policing, minimizing policing, etc. But is Bloomington s intent to get rid of local police? That is concerning if so. I'd love to support a rally or effort the City is involved in to support black lives that does not take that position.
Hello. We recently moved to Bloomington as were told it was LGBT friendly. Does the City have a webpage of what Pride Month activities it is sponsoring? I haven't heard anything and am disappointed. I know it's crazy this year but it's still Pride. Thank you!
