Herbicide / pesticide application at Olcott Park
Herbicide / pesticide application at Olcott Park
Can Olcott Park change out several if their "big kid" swings to toddler/baby swings???? The big kid swings are always empty and the toddler/baby swings usually have a wait.
There is an abandoned non-electric bicycle along the south edge (downhill side) of the paved path between Sherwood Oaks Park and the Olcott Park parking lot. Another walker told me that it had been there several days.
There has been a grove of mature sassafras trees along the edge of the upper field at Olcott. This field is on the right as you enter the park from the road, and the grove is at the back of this field. Most of them are now dead, and the remaining ones are partially dead. Is this caused by a disease? Should some sort of action be taken?
If you go to the parking lot and walk down the trail through the woods, where the trail curves above the creek, someone has put a city trash can on the bank and set it on fire.
Details: There is a large (4" diameter) limb broken and hanging over the paved pathway that goes through Park Ridge East Park. While it does not appear that it will easy fall, it is obvious that it is a potential hazard (especially with all the children playing). Please contact me if you cannot see what I am referring to! May be aware already, but the shelter at that park is missing some shingling. So just a heads up.
Was sitting on bench in Park Ridge East Park the other night at the tennis courts (is on the south side of the courts) and noticed the seat is deteriorating (peeling and rusty; go take a look). As it's the only one there, could you please see to it that it gets replaced? Fixed is fine but doubt it can be fixed. Thank you! It's awesome to have great neighborhood parks in town.
Wish list: We would love a fence around the baseball diamond! Currently balls often get lost in the tall grass/trees and roll down the hill. If a fence is not possible, could a perimeter mound be built so that when balls near the end of the field they slow down and don't go further. On the tennis court, a solo practice bounce wall would also be awesome so that kids/adults could play alone if a partner is not available. Lastly, could a pet dish attachment be added on the water fountain.
there's a very dead tree smack in the middle of the playground — between the swings and the slides. very hazardous.
