I use Bryan Park on a daily basis, and I have noticed an increase lately in the amount of dogs that are off-leash. As the park is not off-leash I would appreciate better monitoring of this and perhaps more signage.
Hi, I contacted the city a few weeks ago regarding the status of Park Ridge Park and the materials on areas around the park and shelter in that park. In that note, I suggested cleaning up the debris in the park so as to prevent having to mitigate the problems caused by leaving them over the winter. The past two years, erosion mitigation was done on the park and it occurred to me that if the debris were removed, their would be less work in the spring to get the park back to the way it was at the beginning of fall. That suggestion was passed on to Dave Williams and I have not yet heard anything back from the parks department. I would like to know what the plans are for park with regards to debris removal. I am concerned now that since the true winter has begun and the city leaf removal is over, the debris will now remain in place all winter, hopefully to be removed soon enough in the spring such that only minimal work will have to be done in the spring. Perhaps if I had none that Parks would not be able to handle the debris removal, we could have organized a neighborhood effort to take care of the problem but it seems like that time has passed. To be clear, I really appreciate the responsiveness the Parks Department has had to suggestions and concerns about the Park Ridge Park and no doubt all the other parks. The erosion mitigation efforts conducted over the last two years did have a very positive effect and the park, the neighborhood and the city are all better for them. I am sure that something will get worked out this time as well and look forward to hearing what the plan is going forward for our wonderful, small and highly shaded park. Thank you.
Down pine tree in butler park near pavilions
White powdery, flour like substance on walking trail in Butler park similar to what I saw workers cleaning off the B-Line. Location is NW of the pavilions. Not sure if it is significant.
Regarding Building and Trades Park: The steps leading from the upper level to the playing fields are in bad repair and need to be leveled. Even more important, older citizens such as my husband and Regarding Building and Trades Park: The steps leading from the upper part of the park to the playing field, dog walking area, etc., are in bad repair. In addition to problems with the steps themselves, a hand rail (simple pipe construction would be perfectly adequate) is needed, especially for little ones and most older park users.

There are currently no no-smoking signs in the Upper Cascades park. My wife and I were there with our 1 year old daughter last Monday or Tuesday, and were unable to use the swings as two childless adults were smoking on the swing set and declined to move. Can prominent signage be placed to indicate the park/park system is smoke free? I would also update the park rules to be more layman friendly, as they primarily reference federal, state, and city codes (found here https://bloomington.in.gov/documents/viewDocument.php?document_id=7722). The bridge at the playground at the Winslow Sports Plex needs one more bar added to either side. I have seen multiple kids fall or slide through the bottom gap. A week ago, my daughter fell and broke her arm through this same gap. One extra bar on either side would prevent many injuries.
