While l love the permeable pavers at Hopewell Commons, I feel they create an unsafe environment. The pavers cross Morton, making that area appear to be an extension of the park. It doesn't look like a road, so I fear park users, especially children, won't look for cars. I think warning signs or additional stop signs could increase safety
Bicyclists in parks and on trails do not notify walkers that they are coming up behind them. Other countries have bells on the bikes which the bikers use to alert someone that they are coming up behind. It is startling to have someone fly by, esp when walking a dog. Dogs could dart out in the path of the bike if the walker is not aware the biker is behind them. The City needs signage in every park and on every trail to remind bikers that they need to signal their approach when coming up behind a walker, esp one with a dog/dogs.
There is significant erosion occurring in Park Ridge Park on the col-du-sac side of the park. I was hoping the park and this issue could be put on the list to receive new grass or whatever attention it needs to reduce the erosion. Thank you.
To whom it may concern, Over the past couple weeks I have been visiting the Miller-Showers Park located at 1500 N. College Ave. I like to pass the time listening to the waterfall or looking at the detailed sculptures. Unfortunately, it is hard to enjoy the view because the water is so slimy and murky. I am disappointed because it can look so much better if cleaned. Right now it just looks gross. To resolve the problem, I would appreciate if someone could please clean the water so there is no more green slime in the water. I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my problem. Please contact me at the above email address. Sincerely, Kristina Coonce
along the tree line behind my house at 3951 N, Rosewood ct and adjoining the Cascade Golf course there are tree limbs now rubbing against my house in storms. Can I cut these limbs or remove these trees?
Trees on the east side of Building Trades Park need to be trimmed. Her father owns the business next to the park (Anderson Medical) 522 W. 2nd St. and the trees are making a mess at his business. She would like to be contacted at her business # 812-339-8300
I was not sure to whom I should send this e-mail; but this was the address listed on Bloomington's Parks and Recreation website. The local park in my neighborhood, Park Ridge Park, is in need of some new equipment. I know it is hard to get funding and that our park is small but it is right near the apartments and there are a great number of kids and young adults who frequent the park. Our neighborhood would be proud to call Park Ridge Park our "home" park but not in the state that it is in. The main problem is with the basketball goals. They are badly rusted (the poles as well as the backboards) and one goal has a net that is cut up and dangling halfway off. Basically, this section of the park is an eyesore. It has seen a lot of use over the years but if we could get funding to have these replaced that would be super! Thank you.
I set up a slackline (a sort of portable tightrope) on the basketball goals at upper cascades park yesterday, january 11th in the afternoon. upon examination of my slack line setup, I realized i had set up the line wrong, in such a way that the only way it could be removed is to be cut. I had mulled over my decisions in this situation and decided to return the next day with a knife in order to cut the line down. I arrived today at around 4:00pm and discovered my slack line had been taken down and was nowhere in sight. I asked a few of the skaters who were nearby if they had seen anything. I got stories from two separate individuals stating that an older, bald/balding, man wearing a white tshirt and or black jacket. i would like to know if the man mentioned was a parks employee, or if it was just some guy who stole my 150$ slack line. a speedy response would be greatly appreciated as if it wasn't a parks employee, i will be contacting the police.
Good morning. I have a couple questions on the dog park. How high is the fence? I know that it says that we should unleash the dogs as soon as we get in through the gate but what if we have a new dog that we are not too confident in their recall just yet? Can I keep her on a long lead for some, if not all, of the time? Thanks. Matt Crouse
