As of 6 pm this evening, there were 4 Lime Scooters illegally parked in the bus shelter near Pete Ellis and Longview. (Photo attached). I first noticed the scooters there about 8:30 AM this morning. Lime employees freelance "chargers" who sign up up through their app to charge the scooters overnight at home and then place them in the morning. These scooters were likely placed by a new and under-trained charger. I reported the issue to Lime through their support system about 9 am and received a form response just a few minutes later that someone was being dispatched to retrieve the scooters. However, Lime did not keep their word and by the end of the work day, the scooters are still there. This evening I see one had had been knocked over--- probably by someone just trying to use the bus shelter as intended. I recommend impounding these scooters. Lime should know better than to allow their team to place the scooters in bus shelters and should at least keep their word to address issues like this probably when they arise! I'm on the Bicycle Pedestrian Safety Commission and we will be discussing new scooters as a topic at our meeting next Monday.
There is a City bus stop shelter just north of Thorton Drive on Henderson (across the street from Black Lumber). The last few evenings, it looks like someone is staying in there overnight. Is this allowed?
bullet holes in bustop shelter glass fractured could break and cause injury. all sides shot up. check coffee shop across st for more errant shots.
Cars always parked alongside the bus stop where the wheelchair ramp is bus turning off of West 15th can often not see me over SUVs and trucks parked along there I believe the city ordinances no parking but cars continue to park there because there is no sign or curb painted with enough room for the bus to pull over to the right almost missed the bus to work because I am small and cars were blocking as usual and I feel unsafe walking between cars to run out into the road and wave down the bus. A person in a wheelchair can certainly not be seen and would have difficulty Wheeling out into the street to the bus because there is not room for the bus to pull over and lower the lift on to the ramp attaching the road to the sidewalk have called City police for towing multiple times police drive close by look over and then drive away doing nothing
Bus cannot pull over to operate the lift system onto the ramp cars parked there every day usually the same several cars the bus needs to pull over coming from 15th Street to operate the wheelchair lift and when SUVs are parked there and you are small and a chair the bus driver cannot see you trying to wheel out to catch the bus and the bus will pass you by it is also not safe for people to have to run out into the road to stop the bus or with their wheelchair when they shouldn't have to there are usually more cars parked here than this
Please help. Someone said they are getting rid of the 6 stop at Smith and Morningside. That was not explained anywhere! We knew they were getting rid of the stop of the other line further into Morningside but NEVER the one on Smith. That not only helps slow the extreme danger of folks flying through the four way stop there but is used tons by faculty and students and staff of PRE and elsewhere to get to campus and downtown. This is a major problem and was NOT communicated well if true.
Request for a trash receptacle at the bus stop next to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard. Said he is willing to maintain the small receptacle if one is acquired. Contact constituent for more details.
I do not live on the bus line, so this is not about me. I know several people who use Bloomington Transit, that is there only transportation, unless they can find a ride. I know people who do not get off work until 11:00, too bad so sad, they cannot take a bus home. I know several single mothers who cannot work on Sundays because the buses do not run on Sundays. They can not even go to the grocery on Sunday, after working all week. One mother in paticular, uses the bus to take her child to day care, then the bus to take her to work and then reverse that when she gets off work. Wouldn't it be nice for her to be able to take her son something special maybe one Sunday a month (I would say that would be all she could afford) or go to the grocery on Sunday. The only way you're going to be able to take a bus on Sunday, is if you are a student, who lives in one of the apartment complexes that provides shuttle service. I wish someone would please discuss the lack of transportation in Bloomington. Thank you so much for your time. Diana Elkins
benches at bus stops There are a lot of elderly/handicapped individuals who ride the #2 Countryview bus to and from Krogers Seminary square. For some reason the benches on the west side of Krogers were removed. I contacted Bloomington Transit and they said it was the city that removed them. I was told it was because too many "street" people hang out there so this is to discourage that. It does not make sense since the bus stop on the east side of Krogers, closer to the park where those people hang out. The other thing that makes no sense is to inconvenience senior citizens over a situation that would seem to be something that the police patrol should be able to discourage by driving by often, especially those golf cart looking vehicles or bike patrols since it is part of the bline trail. Since the grocery is expanding and updating probably even more people will come there I would like to request that thosebenches be replaced. I can get a petition signed by passengers if it will do any good.
