Car parked in alley
Car parked in alley
#204971 So, you have no issue with the fact that this is a used car lot on a residential street? You have no issue with the fact that the owner of this used car lot, which would NEVER occur in any other neighborhood in the city, blocks traffic and impedes the two-way flow of traffic? You have no issue with the trashy area, littered with various types of products and containers for refurbishing cars? So, it's o.k. to have a used car facility in a residential neighborhood. Is that correct? Maybe I should start my own.
I have reported this problem to the City several times, but nothing has ever been done about it. There is a used car business being operated out of a house at 1316 S. Palmer Ave. Deliveries of used cars and trucks arrive every week, and more often than that. The owner of the business has workers working who are always in the street. The vehicles and the workers block traffic, and it is unsafe for the workers refurbishing the used cars and trucks. In fact, that block of Palmer has become a one-lane street. The cars and trucks are parked up and down the street at all times. The place itself is trash heap. I own a house in the 1400 block, only two doors south of this used car lot, and my property value is diminished because of it. This would NEVER be allowed in any other residential neighborhood in the city. There are constantly many used cars and trucks coming and going as they get refurbished and sold. I've had enough. Please do your work.
Every school day around 2:30 PM to 2:50 PM, there is a line of traffic parked on each side of Wylie Farm Road, almost all the way to the intersection of Henderson. With cars parked on each side, it reduces the road to one usable lane. Several times each day (including today) traffic going in either direction will have to wait to allow cars through single file. On today’s occasion, I was halfway through the line of cars when a truck turned at the intersection and proceeded to frustratedly drive-through, forcing a near collision. Anyway, this has been going on for years and it’s surprising that there have not been accidents here. It is worth taking a look at because the parking seems unnecessary and done just as a convenience for parents picking up their kids from South high school.
The residents of this address have been parking on the street for 12 or more hours at a time. When this happens, the street is no longer "2 way" and vehicles often must wait for the car in the other lane to pass before they can proceed. Drivers often do not have a clear line of sight. The car blocking the street lane is also unsafe for pedestrians who have to wait for traffic to clear to continue walking. There is no sidewalk. This is not the only vehicle related problem at this address. There are always at least 2 vehicles that are not operational and have been sitting in the very sad driveway for years (literally). Vehicles also get parked on the property's grass near the street. There are 2 issues here: appearance and safety. Both are important. I wouldn't want to buy a house near 3616 E. Post, with its constant stream of vehicles and unkempt appearance. The problems at this address continue into the back yard, with a broken down unused shed that is a home for raccoons. And behind the shed are 6 foot high weeds. Please talk to this property owner.
Same car parked in the same spot every morning. Someone is going to run into it. Follow up to case 204697. This picture was taken 8/6/25 @6:00am.
Large RV permanently parked in street and blocking street so neighbors can’t park. Trash and debris around location and in yard. Looks like both a parking violation and a magnet for rodents.
The guy lives in this house, keeps working on cars all up and down the street. Taking other people’s places to park on all street parking. It’s difficult once again to get through the onslaught of cars, he has parked up and down the street. I kicked him out of somebody else’s driveway the other day cause he just decided to park the car in their driveway and it’s one of my properties for my property management. I’m responsible for. It’s ridiculous that several people on this block have expressed their concerned about this yet. It’s still going on. now he’s on as the picture shows, the opposite side of the street working on a truck in front of somebody else’s house that’s not even his general parking area. This is getting frustrating and out of hand I’m going to file a complaint against the city with a petition, signed behind it with everybody else’s name on it because this is not getting dealt with correctly. I’ve ran them off in front of my house, blocking my driveway, and I don’t even live within two houses of him. He’s working on vehicles all throughout the day and we can’t even get through the road sometimes due to doors wide open.
Is this eyesore EVER going to be cleaned up? Constant traffic, rearranging various vehicles, boats, heavy equipment. Blocked alleys on both sides of the street. Lots of random sawing and different people moving trailers and trucks and cars. This has gone on for months and months and months. Does the city check on problem properties like this? Thanks for your help.
