Resident reports persistent speeding and disregard for stop signs on East Blue Ridge Drive in a neighborhood setting and requests increased police patrols in the area.
I encourage someone to take a look at the state of the Morton Street parking garage's elevator. It's unsightly, in total disrepair, and an embarrassment that poorly represents Bloomington to all the out-of-town visitors who stay at the the Hilton and park in the garage.
There is a white sedan, Indiana license plate AEK322, illegally parked on West 4th & Waldron, partially blocking alley between two houses. It happens often.
Email says: "property is violating 20.05.052 (a) (1) regarding the placement of landscape materials in the right-of-way"
Trash dumpsters behind Upstairs Pub, Falafel, etc. Email reads: "This is this morning behind Dunkirk Square. I feel that each tenant (upstairs pub, jimmy johns, falafels, wheel pizza, and Kirkwood Stacks) needs fined and we need to reach out to Bryan Rental (again) as this was the same case two weekends ago. I’ve spoken with the mayor on this type of issue and he wants us to keep issuing tickets every time we encounter this non sense."
I have observed that a couple of the interpretative signs around City Hall are too high. Most of the signs along the B-Line are about 34" high. But two of them, one next to the Hopewell jar fountain and the other on the B-Line across from the Bloomington Banquet sculpture, are 45" and 43" high respectively. Small children and people in wheelchairs would not be able to read these signs. Those two signs, unlike many of the others, are not mounted in a footer. So it would probably be easy to cut a portion of the pole off and lower them so they are more accessible. I am sure both of these signs are out of compliance with the ADA. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Hello, there is currently no safe way to cross 3rd street at Grant to get to the BT stop. There is no crosswalk at that intersection. I walked down to cross at Lincoln but after I crossed, the sidewalk is under construction and I had to walk on the street. Is there some kind of “temporary crosswalk” that can be installed at 3rd and grant? Traffic is crazy and dangerous right now. Thanks, -Bill
