It may be hard to see from the photo, but 2 different people on Rogers Street marked 2 totally different places for my gas line. The latest guy was swinging a handheld machine randomly and looking at thr flags across the street before placing a yellow street warning and a flaf. The 2 different flags placed different at about 6 inches. I was watching the guy (very large man) as he was marking because he seemed to totally putting lines by looking across the street at the flags his coworker was putting down. He swang the machine but was never looking down for any reading or whatever the machine is supposed to say. I definitely do not want anyone digging in my yard! I do not give permission. Also, what is this far? Again, I do not give permission for my home.

On June 29th, 2025, the creek to the east of the property flooded, causing 10 apartments to get flooded and multiple cars in the parking lot. We believe that upsizing the culvert downstream to allow more water to pass would solve the issue. Thanks!

The top of the sewer drains are covered with grass clippings from mowing and gravel. The drains starting from 1010 w Cottage Grove down the road on both sides of the street are covered and when the rain is heavy it causes the water to run in the middle of the street.

Serious flash flooding in our neighborhood last night. At least 7 residential lots were affected on W Allen (6 north side of the street, 1 south side) directly west of the drainage creek that runs alongside Patterson. This has been an issue for several years, but is happening with increased frequency and severity. I've owned my house since 2012 and experienced 1 instance through 2019. Since then we've had floods covering much of my front yard at least twice a year. Last night was the 3rd instance this year and the worst I've seen. Water level reached my knees while on the sidewalk. Earlier this year, one neighbor's car was totaled due to flooding. Another had water rise up above floor level in their house a couple years ago. Previous attempts to clear brush, debris, and small blockages in the creek have had no impact. Rain garden bump outs were installed on Allen. They seem to have no impact as they run east up Allen whereas the source of flooding is the creek to the west. Utilities staff working on our block in the past have suggested culverts were too small to handle water flow. Reading the 2022 stormwater master plan, I wonder if installing a detention pond nearby might help. Instead of attaching photos, here's a video link taken at the peak of flooding last night:

My street runs downhill from Dunn to Walnut. In our older neighborhood, there is no infrastructure to handle stormwater. So the drainage ditch in front of my house and 3 others is the only thing that keeps our street from being flooded completely in any significant rainfall. I maintain it by weeding and cleaning out leaves and litter, along with the culvert that goes under my driveway and can become totally blocked- despite the fact that the debris that blocks it runs down from every house uphill of me to Dunn St. I'm writing two request that this ditch be repaired, as it is full of holes and water is going under it, causing even faster deterioration. Although the ditch was installed by the prior owner and not by the city, it is doing the city's job here; it is handling stormwater and preventing street flooding. This ditch is a small and short-term patch on the major drainage issue in this neighborhood which needs to be addressed in a more comprehensive way soon. My basement, which never had more than a trickle of water for the 23 years I've lived here, regularly floods now. My uphill neighbors' eastern foundation wall collapsed in a rainstorm 2 years ago. Glendora runs like a river in any rainfall, and as you know, rainfalls are getting heavier and more frequent. I will take pictures to show that my ditch keeps one side dry so that the street doesn't flood all the way across. I would really appreciate some short-term help with patching and possibly putting a grate across the culvert, along with a response about a long-term solution. Thank you for any help you can provide.

The Johnson Creamery flooded again. I am a tenant in the building and after talking with the management company of the building, they indicated that the reason why the building floods regularly now is because of the way the drainage is designed. We walked around the back of the building (north side) and saw drainage that clearly can not handle the amount of run off coming from between 8th and 11th st buildings and parking lots. I'd like to request the city evaluate the options so this can be fixed. This building now floods several times a year, ruins furniture, initiates insurance claims, and disrupts business operations like mine. I will be unable to meet with clients and perform my job for several weeks while the building is cleaned out again.
