I'd love to see a bus stop in Matlock Heights. I am not comfortable with my kids crossing the Bypass to get to existing bus stops, which really limits their ability to ride public transit. Thanks!
All summer long every day except Sunday starting at 7:30 Bryan Park employees used leafblowers on the playgrounds for 15 or more minutes. These are a source of air and noise pollution. What was being cleaned up? Dust? Leaves? For those, push room are faster, more effective, and non-polluting. Please consider not using gas-powered blowers in city parks, at least in summer.
I've recently noticed the Rail Trail between Country Club Drive and Gordon Pike has sections of large gravel (see attached photo). I appreciate that maintenance is being done, assuming the City is responsible for this work. But, I am concerned because this large gravel is inconsistent with the existing surface for the trail. As a bike commuter and runner on this section of the trail, I was disappointed to see large gravel appear on the surface. The Rail Trail is a great surface to run and walk on and commute on. These patches of large gravel pieces diminish it's utility and enjoyment. Are there plans to use large gravel more often on the trail? I request that the smaller, packed surface be maintained. 3508 Park Lane. Resident appears to be running a junk yard business in his front and side yards. Walking by this eyesore is most displeasing. I am sure the residents of other homes on that street are very disturbed by the messy, nasty look of this.
Our neighbors have reported various readings/interpretations of the city ordinance and related policies on fire pits. Are these allowed? Under what conditions?
On the bridge over Patterson Dr. on the B-Line there are 4 square B-line steel signs. In the recent winds, one of these has come loose and become bent. If there is more wind, which there will as it is almost spring, the remaining two connections may also become loose. It appears to me that the screws mounting the sign to the structure are not long enough. The sign then blowing and dropping makes for a very unsafe situation as it is 15 feet above the ground, sidewalk and road.
Hello, We live in the Echo Park community (2780 S. Walnut St. Pk.). We basically do not have safe walking access to the nearby Winslow Street. Families and the elderly risk their lives walking on the side of the asphalt, at a pretty dagerous intersection (cars do not have good sight when they turn to this street). Adding a short sidewalk would solve this problem. See picture attached (the problematic area is marked in red). It is a tragedy waiting to happen. Thank you.

At the corner of Allen and Palmer the rain has created a gully that is below the storm sewer. The water continues around the corner and south (downhill) on Palmer creating a strong washout of the asphalt. The storm sewer at the bottom of the hill in front of 1005 S Palmer collects chunks of asphalt and the gully gets wider with every rain event
i heard that flags are supposed to be at half-staff because of the death of hoosier/former senator birch bayh, but the courthouse etc not doing that.
