Employees in a security vehicle patrolling the Bline trail were smoking in the vehicle while driving through Switchyard Park. This seems like a lapse in oversight and resulted in negatively impacting the experience visiting the park.
There is a tent set up under the Madison Street RR overpass between W. 11th and W. 14th. The neighborhood does not want homeless people anywhere nearby. Please look into this.
I live down the street from a construction site which is consistently incredibly noisy very early in the morning. I have reported this construction site for noise violations before, and the problem was, for a time, resolved. However, the problem has started again as they are once again beginning work early in the morning (around 5 a.m.) which, I am aware, is well before the time they are supposed to start even staging for their operations. I am an IU grad student and I need to be able to rest. I am aware that my neighborhood is in a rather defunct part of town, but people still live here and need to be able to function as normal. Active construction site with no visible permit present. Alleys have been blocked off in both directions. Are there % greenspace requirements for new construction? It appears they have dugup the entire lot. Are there onsite parking requirements for the number of tenants expected? The on-street parking places in this neighborhood are already full of cars. Is there a height restriction? Will there be or has there been an opportunity for public comment about any proposal for this site? Will the number of parking passes issued be limited to the actual number of residents? This all seems a bit third-world...

I took my 5yr old daughter to the park restroom and there was a used syringe in the trash bin. It was out in the open laying on top. The bathroom was a wreck. I told her not to touch anything and not to use the bathroom. This is 2nd time in two weeks 2 different parks. We have to do something. Next time I experience this I will send photos to the Bloomingtonian and the local news. Maybe take the monolith money and spend it on some type of safety at these parks. Sincerely One pissed off Dad!!!
