Misc. debris scattered mostly in back yard. Non compliance with mowing ordinance. Also property to east of 908 N. Madison blocking alley and trash and debris in yard.
I own the property located at 1005 N. Jackson St, 47404. Shortly after purchasing the property the house next door burned down. We felt very fortunate that our house was not damaged. The house was demolished, however, shortly after demolishing the house someone has set up a tent on the lot and multiple people have been seen using the tent. There is trash surrounding the tent. Though we have not seen a fire there is what appears to be a makeshift fire pit. We use this property as a short term rental and it has the proper permits. I am personally concerned about the safety of my wife who spends some of her days working on improvements within the property. Obviously concerned about the impact on our ability to rent the home with the above described situation. I'm not sure what can be done but after reviewing the code it does not seem like this fits the intended use of the property. I am also empathetic to the rise of homelessness in our community, but this is a residential neighborhood and for the safety of all community members something should be done. We dodged a serious issue when the house burnt down and worry we may not be so lucky if something happens again. Thanks for your attention to this matter, please reach out with any questions. Habitually wet and often smelly sidewalk on north side of Cottage Grove, midway between Lincoln to the east and 213 E. Cottage Grove to the west. Leaky sewer line (?)
Is the railroad allowed to violate City Code and maintain barbed wire on the tops of security fences within the city limits?
Along the north edge of property where the alley intersects Grant and under the junipers, there is an old, metal fence with a single stretch of barbed wire at the top. This is alongside a public alley, so the barbed wire should not be there, as per City Code 14.36.030 - "Barbed wire fences". It would suffice if the offending wire were removed.
The elevator has been out of service for three weeks as of last Saturday. It would be helpful if a notice could be placed at the entrance to the garage itself in addition to the elevator doors, so that someone who can't manage stairs will know the elevator isn't available. Disregard if fixed. Thank you.

Dave’s Hot Chicken blares music and PA announcements very loudly, audible more than half of a block away. You can’t carry on a conversation while passing the restaurant. This seems to be a violation of the city’s noise ordinance. Please enforce it. Thank you.
The dumpster here has been overfill since Friday, trash is blowing in the neighborhood
