I'm tired of the noise and late-night activity. Since January, my neighbors and I have been subjected to stereo blasting and cars parked along our street. It all comes from the house next door. These hooligans seem to wait until 11 pm to turn their stereo. We have seen the police knock on the door, but no one responds.
Hello, I am the facilities manager of Trinity Episcopal Church (111 s Grant Street). I reported a gas meter that I believe is unsafe. My case was closed with no further discussion about the concerns of the Church or the well-being and safety of us or our neighbors. The pipe on the meter is NOT well protected and it juts out beyond the profile of the building. Large trucks traverse that alley, not to mention cars. Our building has been struck on occasion by vehicles driving through or backing up while delivering food/supplies etc. The small pipe protecting the meter is only 4 feet tall and has been struck one time already by the wheel of a vehicle. We strongly believe that this will not be the last time and that our building and the well-being of its occupants are being placed in an unsafe situation. While I did not ask that the meter be moved - I would ask that it be better protected at the very least. The pipe protecting it is NOT adequate and it does not address the remainder of the gas pipe that is in danger of being struck by the mirrors or other parts of the very large trucks that regularly enter and exit that alleyway. These are the two issues we want addressed. I will be saving copies of this report and the last one - along with the city's response in our files here at Trinity. When that pipe is struck by a passing vehicle, we will be holding all of the parties we've reported this issue to, responsible. I strongly urge the City and the Gas Company Centerpoint to reconsider leaving that meter in its unsafe and inadequately protected condition. White Lincoln town car and blue Ford Explorer in driveway for over a year-both not running. Bags of trash in front yard. Drugs in and out of house/property. Please help clean up this eyesore!
There is some sort of sign or other debris sitting in the middle of the southbound lane of Rogers by the electrical substation. This sign has been in the road for weeks if not months.
I submitted a complaint on March 11, 2022 regarding this property's trash issue. This item was assigned to Rob Council as Case #179224. Rob quickly responded, and from what I understand, he gave violation notices to all units in this property. Rob told us to keep an eye on the issue and reach back out if it persisted. As you can see in the photo provided, there is still a problem. This property's trash bins have been on the curb for multiple days. There are trash bags and loose garbage littering their parking area and along S Walnut St. One of the bins has dangerously fallen into the street. We are hoping further actions can be taken by the City to rectify this situation. Thank you for your time and efforts.
The traffic light on S. College at 3rd is out of sync with the other lights on S. College (5th, 4th, etc.). Two days in a row I had to sit for a long time at the 3rd light rather than have it lined up with the timing of the other lights to keep traffic moving.
Two giant potholes in the road. The City fixed potholes to the west on Tapp and to the east on Country Club, but neglected the intersection.
Around 9:45am this morning, I walked out of the parking garage at 7th and Morton, out through the lower level of the garage onto 7th Street. As I was walking out onto the sidewalk, a minivan was driving east in the bike lanes! The driver and passenger seemed lost and realized they were in the wrong place. They stopped then crossed over a break in the weird curbing there to get back into a lane of traffic. They had driven from at least Morton halfway up the block before getting out of the bike lane. This is not the first time of numerous times I have witnessed vehicles driving in or parking in the 7th Street bike lane. Is there any way to add signs or markings that make this more obvious? Also, while we are here - on Monday I was downtown driving on Morton headed north and came to a stop at 7th Street. People are really confused by this intersection. A car from the west came to a complete stop. A car from the north on Morton decided to cross 7th in front of the stopped car from the west on Morton. A car coming down the hill from the east on 7th was not intending to stop, but had to due to this car in the intersection from the north on Morton that failed to yield to 7th Street traffic. Although, the randomly stopped car to the west on 7th acting like it was a four-way stop sign certainly made matters go awry. Essentially, the entire 7th Street bike lane system is a mess of poorly designed infrastructure. A friend was telling me about how the bike lane gets blocked at 7th and Woodlawn because of the college students getting on and off buses and the bus riders have to cross the bike lanes and often do not pay any attention. A perfectly good street has multiplied the potential for accidents and injuries with this "upgrade" that got installed.
