Sidewalk & Curb Complaints
501-509 West Allen Street

There was talk of redoing this curb at some point, but I never heard more. I own the property where it would be expanded (1100 S. Rogers St.). People drive over it on a regular basis. Is there still a plan to fix it? Thanks!

The footpath on the NW corner of College Ave & Old 37 has an extremely steep section approaching the curb cuts designating the College Ave. pedestrian crosswalk. It is quite unusable for power wheelchairs.
Moreover, the lack of a side path along Old SR 37 means coming from Gourley Pike, I must approach the intersection with my chair in the motorway running against oncoming traffic.
Of necessity, I must operate in the center of the lane keeping away from the soft shoulder. This is potentially quite hazardous for me given the 40+ mph cross- & turning-traffic and the concrete trucks that frequent this intersection.

The sidewalk South of Gourley Pike along N. Kinser Pike has a staircase that prevents the use of this route in my power wheelchair.

The pedestrian overpass across SR46 at Arlington School has a very rough alignment with W Gourley Pike. Also, the sidewalk leading toward Colonial Crest and Kinser Pike is discontinuous and there is a blind curve on Gourley Pike at that point making the use of this pedestrian route quite hazardous for me in my power wheelchair.
Blocked Street
201–499 W Gourley Pike
- Case Date:

The pedestrian crossing at the intersection of W. Gourley Pike & Kinser Pike is unmarked and thus invisible for oblivious passing motorists leading to a number of scary crossings for me. The speed limit is posted 30 mph but Northbound traffic often streams downhill from 17th at speeds more like 40 mph. Despite the danger crossing in my power wheelchair with velocitized drivers streaming in from SR 46 on the other side as well, it is the safest alternative with more severe problems on the Arlington bridge/Colonial Crest route reported separately.

"To whom this may concern
I live in Smallwood Plaza and I have noticed a regular issue and accident waiting to happen in regards to the parking garage on Morton St. When cars are parked behind smallwood, they make it difficult to see oncoming cars both drivers and cyclists leaving smallwoods parking garage. A solution I've thought of is installing a convex mirror to extend line of sight. Thank you for taking the time to read my email.
Sincerely,
Cody Rosenberg"
