Animal Control & Neglected Pets

420 W Gordon PIKE

Case Date:
12/29/2023

There is a homeless camp north of Gordon Pike and east of the Rail Trail. I think it is on City jurisdiction. Someone there has a dog that barks constantly. It has been barking this evening (12/29/23) for 30+ minutes at least. This has become a recurring problem. This dog needs to be stopped from barking and this homeless camp needs to be cleared out. All of the camps along the Rail Trail need to be cleared out. It is creating a danger for trail users as the safety of the trail is declining. Please enforce the rules for the noise issues with the dog and the improper camping and creating a nuisance and a hazard along the trail. Maybe clean up the south end of Switchyard Park while you are at it? Make the trails safe for everyone again. This situation with allowing the homeless camps has gotten out of hand and needs to be cleared up before it continues to get worse.

There are two great danes on the loose again. This is happening at least once a week for the past month. One of the dogs is aggressive towards other dogs. It is known in the neighborhood that the owner does not have a properly fenced yard and leaves the dogs outside most of the day.

Tenants in this apartment appear to have multiple dogs (4 from what we have heard) that are left out on their back deck for long periods of time and bark enough to disturb the neighbors. The number of dogs is in violation of our pet policy, but my main concern is the health and well being of the animals.

Yorker type male dog goes by name of ginger is constantly getting loose and running around the subdivision. Pestering other pets that are on leashes, and barking at everyone. Please, please take this dog away. The person that it belongs to is rarely home and whoever lives with her constantly lets the dog out. This dog needs a better home. I’ve tried to corral the dog into my yard, but he’s too smart to get too close. Address given is where the dog lives.

coyotes rage through Crestmont Park and surrounding properties nightly. Some neighbors report seeing individual coyotes in their yards. One neighbor reports seeing a coyote jump a fence on W 16th and killed a cat. Feral cats have been eaten. Last night I heard what sounded like coyote vs fox killing. One neighbor claims that the coyotes live in a hole they dug by a ditch on W. 16th west of Lindbergh. I sympathize with all the creatures who have been displaced by huge complexes in the area, But these guys have got to go.
