The train trestle underpass just past Bender Lumber is an incredible eyesore of graffiti. It is an extreme example. I don't know if the city graffiti busters (I was referred to you by Mayor Kruzan) have used black paint to "address" this site, but if so it actually looks much worse. The older train track underpasses all over the perimeter of the city need to be checked and the graffiti addressed. Former Mayor Tomilea Allison's policy was to paint over all the graffiti at a site like an underpass with gray paint to completely remove any trace of tagging and defacement. She did this as soon as it was reported. This discouraged the vandals knowing that no one would see their dog-like marking of that territory.
There are a number of significant potholes from increased traffic due to development in the area and the harsh winter on 14th Street between Rogers and College Ave. The development at the former Harry Stephens Oldsmobile site and the apartments at 14th and College have caused this section of street to deteriorate faster than normal. It should at least be attended to in order to fill the potholes and put on the re-pave list. It is a short but highly traveled street.
The alleyway on the southside of W 6th street between Adams and Pine (adjacent to 1221 W. 6th) is in SERIOUS need of repair. There is a lot of traffic in that alley as a result of the off street parking situation for the apartment houses near Kirkwood and Adams. The alleyway was covered in asphalt at one point and repaired with gravel. Today the gravel has been displaced and the surface is VERY uneven. Additionally there is a hazardous blindspot at the corner of this alley as a result of unkept landscaping at the abandoned house next door. Please feel free to contact me for more information. -Jacob Kuebler Homeowner 1221 W. 6th
New pothole just opened, approx 12 inches round x 3 inches deep.
There's a hornet or wasp or ? nest in tree (doesn't at all look like squirrel nest but my vantage point has been from a car driving by). The tree is in front of a house a little east of Whitethorn and Pargrave Place, on the south side of the street. It's high up and very large and with no leaves on the tree now very easy to see. I don't know who "owns" or maintains the tree but hope it's something that can be taken care of.
